* Bachelor’s degree
* CA Single-Subject English credential OR verifiable subject-matter competency (e.g., a degree in English, passage of the CSET or at least 20 units in English coursework). If not currently credentialed, teachers must be NCLB (No Child Left Behind) compliant by the end of the first school year (June 2010).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
* Passionate about improving public education to help all children reach their dreams.
* A strong ethical base and self awareness.
